Today you will start using Blender! I have changed a couple of the videos around. Watch the first video that focuses on the top tools. Throughout the next 5 days, you will watch the videos, we will work together on steps, and create the sword and stone. The deadline for this project is MONDAY, APRIL 19, 2021 at the end of the day. I am accounting for sports absences, prom/InService on Friday, April 16. If you sat down and did this continuously, you should get done in less than 3 class periods.

Watch the video below. A lot of the info is reiterated from what you already know but I would like you to use the background and apple graphics below as we do not have the Adobe Stock files like they use. Basically, the apple should travel and change sizes as it goes up and down the hill. Make sure to have him do 3-5 flips. The size of the apple should change as he "rides" the hills.

Today you will watch an Intro to Animation video.
After watching, I want you to open a Google Doc and tell me what you liked/disliked/are excited for using the program. I want you to then look at YouTube and find a project that you're interested in. Copy and Paste the link to the same Google Doc and turn into classroom so I can see what your interests are!

Happy Monday! Thank you to those of you who have followed directions last week. It's very important that you use your time today and follow the directions that I'm going to give you. Today is Planning Day 1. You will PRINT the following 3 forms, fill them out (I'll describe what you will need to do for each - READ THE DIRECTIONS - they are important. :)) When you're done TODAY, turn into the PINK folder on the door (where you've turned in paper copies before). Staple all together and put your name on the top so I know whose is whose.

***I will be gone 4th block on tuesday but will be in school in the morning. stop by and talk to me for an easy 5 points*** Check the website for tomorrow's instructions.
Attachment 1: Project Rubric
Before you start sketching out/planning or implementing anything, READ through the rubric so you can see what is expected/what you'll need to include in your game. These details will also help you get started/planned out and ready to begin!
Attachment 2: Project Guide: Planning Your Game
Use the second attachment to answer questions (write on back/additional paper if needed), be as descriptive as you can. You will need to think about your plan and game idea and draw out a visual as well as go to the practice lab (if needed) to see visually where you'd start your sprites/objects/etc.
Attachment 3: Peer Review
This is important before you even get started. Have ONE person in the class look at your idea and fill out the peer review. As a peer reviewer, YOU will get points too, so be specific. Don't just say "It's fine". Everyone's first idea can ALWAYS be a little "better, user friendly, easier to use, more challenging" etc. BUT be descriptive and give constructive ideas.

Hi guys,
I am hoping you can all finish up with Lesson 21 by WEDNESDAY. I will assign/start your final project on Wednesday - watch this website. You will have just over 3 weeks to work on your final project if we start on Wednesday.
This is VERY IMPORTANT:
- Email me BEFORE 3:30pm Monday AND Tuesday and let me know what if any questions you have/are you stuck? What level are you on? You will receive credit/points for this - you will receive a 0 if you don't, keep in communication with me please!!
- If you have questions on a certain lesson, ask your classmates first as they are there and can help you immediately.
- You can EMAIL me, do not write a message via Classroom - for some reason it goes directly to my junk and I don't get it right away. Please let me know what your question is and screenshot and email me with what you have. I will get back to you when I can. If I'm feeling good, I will check my email often - if not, I will as soon as I can. (This could mean you send multiple emails if you are having questions AND you email me for points at the end of the day).
- In the meantime move on to the next lesson.
- I look forward to you guys finally starting your project!! Have a good week!

1. Go to the Question of the Day in Google Classroom. Using a Google Doc, answer the question and submit to classroom. This is due BY 3:30 MONDAY.
2. In code.org, go to CSD Unit 3: Interactive Animations and Games. We will start Chapter 1: Images & Animations. The next few days I would like you to work on and complete Lessons 1 (1-6), 2 (1-2) and 3 (1-11).
3. I will check your progress/completion each day and give 5 daily completion points as you work on/finish up lessons. I am able to see progress as you work/complete. Please email any questions! These lessons are mainly practicing placement of objects/colors using (eventually) coordinates.
UNIT 1: Programming for Entertainment
1.1: fill out the worksheet called CS in Entertainment. You can download and fill out as a Google Doc or MS Word Doc. Fill out and submit to classroom.
1.2: Info to use for worksheet search

UNIT 2: Plotting Shapes

Follow the directions on the worksheet very closely and pick ONE person to complete your directions.
2.2 This is the grid you will use when plotting the practice activities and your partner's activity. The last activity saved on this page will be your partner's. I will double check this to their drawing when I return.
Unit 3: Drawing in Game Lab
3.1: View the new vocab and code that will be introduced to you from now on.
