With the snow day Thursday, 4/14 and testing/senior retreat Tuesday, 4/19, we will officially start our Horror Movie Project Wednesday, 4/20. I know there are some gone at the math contest, but I wanted to be sure to post the required information. We can go over it again Thursday  (I know some are gone for golf), however I'm gone Friday, 4/22 (some of you ar egone for track and the K-12 assembly) and I'm also gone Monday, 4/25 and some are gone for State FFA. It will take a little extra planning and self motivation but this project is doable and will be fun to see the finished product. Below you'll find the rubric and description.

Today we will focus on the most important part of creating a video - Planning. In order to create a successful production of any sort, (movie, series, podcast), there needs to be a plan. There are many steps that can be followed - I chose to focus on the following five:
  • Film Development
  • Pre-production
  • Production
  • Post-Production
  • Distribution

View the descriptions of these below. The website focuses mainly on Indie films. I chose this film type as many of our Hollywood hits start as an Indie Film or are screened at Indie Film festivals. If the films show potential success, writers often take the idea and make it a cinematic hit. Some of the most cinematic roles are:
  • Producer
  • Director
  • Screenwriter
  • Production Designer
  • Art Director
  • Costume Designer
  • Cinematographer
  • Editor
  • Actors
  • Music Supervisor

Use the websites below to view the different stages of film production and the descriptions of different production team roles.

Assignment:
On a Google Doc, in your own words, define all 15. .
Think about your favorite movie - describe what happens in each production stage for this to be a success.
Also, decide which production role you are most interested in and explain why - be specific.

Create your own Podcast!
Step 1: Listen/Watch Youtube tutorial on podcast based on 1 of 3 of the following topics: Travel, Sports or Music.
Step 2: Decide which program you'd like to use. I've provided two optional tutorial/videos for Pod Castle & Canva/Anchor. You can decide if you'd like to use Pod Castle or something else with Canva/Anchor
Step 3: Write a script. You will have 2 options for this project. In groups of 2, you'll create ONE 10 minute podcast about 1 topic or you can create TWO 5 minute podcasts about 2 topics (topics listed above). You will want to have a script/layout written out. Each group needs to approve topic/script idea before creating the Podcast.
Step 4: Add audio (using something like Anchor - all clean music) and create cover art for your podcast using a website such as Canva.

You will use your phone to create this podcast as we are working on iPad app approvals. You can either use the apps shown or record and upload to a website of your choosing.

Start Date: Tuesday, March 15
Due Date: Friday, March 18

Suggested Daily Breakdown:
Day 1: watch videos, decide on program. Get in groups, start script
Day 2: Work on script, finalize with Mrs. Pool, practice
Day 3: Record podcast, edit, add any additional audio
Day 4: Finalize graphics and turn completed assignment in.

You can save all of these to the same file using various artboards. Tomorrow we will work on creating text.

Now that you've thought through how you'd create an ad re-vamp, I would like you to make your ad come to life. Using www.canva.com, create your ad to the best of your ability. This is a practice ad that you may or may not decide to use in upcoming assignments/product projects.
**I realize Canva does not have "all the things", so do the best you can. We will focus on specific, intricate details when we use InDesign.

Due Date: Sunday, January 10 @ 5pm - I want to give you enough time to be creative.

Thursday, January 6, 2022
Good Morning, sorry I'm not in today to go over this in class.
Before we start creating using Adobe InDesign, it is important to go over the elements and principles of design. Follow the links below to view the two topics:

Elements of Design
https://xd.adobe.com/ideas/process/ui-design/6-elements-design/

Principles of Design
https://xd.adobe.com/ideas/process/ui-design/5-principles-design/

Assignment:
After reviewing the Elements of Design and the Principles of Design, find an ad you like (ex: Google your interests such as Nike Ads). Find an Ad you like, save it. Then in a Google Doc, insert the ad at at the top. Tell me WHY you like the ad - visually appealing, you like the product, etc. Next, list all 6 Design Elements and 5 Design Principles. If you were to ENHANCE or REDO the ad, explain how you would do this by following each element and principle.

Turn into classroom - you'll be presenting to the class.
