Since I'm gone today, I want you to organize your photos. In your Computer Documents, create a folder for each photography type you've taken photos of and download your photos into each folder. This will help immensely when working on your final. When you're done, go to classroom and create a Google Doc and answer the following questions:

This will help immensely when working on your final. When you're done, go to classroom and create a Google Doc and answer the following questions:
- How many photos of each type do you have? Break it down per folder.
- How do you plan on meeting the 150 required photos? Do you need to start editing now to get ahead?
- I don’t want you to narrow down your specialty today, but what are your top 2-3 types that you will choose from to focus on your final project? How many do you have? Why did you choose this as your specialty? How will you perfect these on your final website?
- DUE AT THE END OF CLASS TODAY
Monday, April 6, 2021
In place of the Chalk Art project - I am going to have you complete 2 ADVANCED Photoshop Projects. Both are due at 11:30 (end of class) on FRIDAY, APRIL 9. You can pick something that interests you - remember though, I have not completed all projects so I can help, but do not have the specifics memorized. Submit a link to the videos on a Google Doc along with the 2 completed projects.
**Find 2 then tell me about them FIRST**

- Double Exposure Assignment 2:Following the SECOND tutorial, watch the short video and using a photo of yourself or a music artist, recreate the project in the tutorial using quotes or song lyrics.

Today we will begin Photo Manipulation/Combining layers, something similar to what you have done using Green Screen. Watch the first tutorial, using your own ideas, complete Assignment 1. When you're done with Assignment 1, you will watch the second tutorial and complete Assignment 2. This builds just a little bit more off of what you JUST did in Assignment 1. You will add text. There isn't sound in the second video, but you will use the same movements as you did in the first assignment. You might need to slow down and Pause the video.
Both videos are due at the end of DAY on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 3***date changed from Tuesday to Wednesday.

You will put this logo on your poster and on your website. You'll create a website using Weebly. See assignment sheet attached below for information. Hi guys,
I will need your patience, cooperation and work this week. In case you haven't heard, I'll be back on Tuesday, February 16.
Before I get into the lengthy details, if you don't read a single word more, the thing I want you to take away from this is - I need you to communicate with me if you have questions. EMAIL me please, don't comment in Google Classroom. I have no idea why but it goes directly into my junk mail and I don't always see it. I will email you when I can. If I start feeling super awful and don't check my email, at least there will be your email in my inbox making the effort to contact me - I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
Monday, Feb 8/Tuesday, Feb 9
***YOU ARE WELCOME TO USE THE GREENSCREEN AT ANY TIME. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO CREATE YOUR OWN SCHEDULE SO YOU DON'T OVERLAP. PLEASE WORK TOGETHER.***

- Work on/finish up editing your green screen pictures. I currently have the deadline set at 3:30pm Tuesday. If you have questions PLEASE utilize your classmates FIRST as they are there, can help you right away. It will be so much easier for you to have them help you hands on when I'm not there. Currently, Kole, Kingston and Colby T. are done and theirs looks correct. Ask them for help (boys, please help if you're asked). When you're done, use your time as a study hall. CHECK BACK TOMORROW, I am putting together your next assignment, I might have it ready for those who are done so you can get started on it.
- Wednesday, Feb 10/Thurs, Feb 11/Monday, Feb 15
- TBD. Watch the website for more info!

Today we are going to start editing Green Screen photos online. You will soon be using the Green Screen yourself for a couple upcoming projects. Below are 2 sample photos we will use in class. When we are done with the two scenes below, I'll have you edit and turn in 5 photos into classroom. You will pick out 5 of your own backgrounds and 5 green screen photos and combine them. You will be graded on clarity, editing and quality.

As we talked about in class on Friday, today you will use as an editing day. I will be back tomorrow before being gone again on Wednesday.
Remember: I would like you to edit 10 of your photos strictly using black and white tones - you can change the vibrancy/settings when the photo is selected in Photoshop. You will go to the Image tab and you can change adjustments under Mode and Adjustments (you may also have these icons above the layers tab on the right side of your menu/screen). You can adjust the curves, levels, exposure, etc.
I would like you to edit the remaining 10 photos with the color pop editing we practiced on Friday. You will focus on something in the photo that is in color. For example: the main sunflower in the example we used. You can also choose one section of the puzzle if you used a puzzle picture - not the whole puzzle or one object. Edit the photo's color pop THEN adjust the curves/levels exposure. This will darken/brighten the black and white AND color at the same time.
I'll be back tomorrow (Tuesday) to go over any questions. Please use your time wisely, edit using artistic thought - not just random. Please email any questions - I will respond when I can or we can discuss on Tuesday.

COLOR POP DIRECTIONS
- Open your photo in Photoshop
- In the layers panel shown on the right side of the screen, make sure you can see a thumbnail of your photo. Next to the thumbnail should be the word "Background" with a lock icon.
- Right click--> Click on DUPLICTE LAYER-->OK
- IMAGE TAB (on top between Edit and Layer)-->Adjustments-->Hue/Saturation--> Change the Saturation to -100-->OK
- Make sure you are working on the BACKGROUND COPY!!! NOT THE BACKGROUND WITH THE LOCK ON IT!!!! The layer you're on should show a Black and White thumbnail, not the color thumbnail.
- Click on the eraser tool (12th icon down on the toolbar)
- "Erase" the black and white off of the photo. REMEMBER, you can change the size of the eraser brush on the top of the toolbar.
- When you are finished revealing the color pop you want, you can edit the photo. Go to the IMAGE tab and change the settings you wish.

Welcome to your first day! Today we will go over the syllabus, classroom info/rules, Adobe program/downloads and you'll watch a short video about the basics of photography. There aren't many "notes"/quizzes in this class, however we will go over the Basics of Photography Power Point, fill in notes and have a quiz before I let you lose with your cameras. No sense in taking random photos when there's an art to it. This short video will prepare you for the information we will cover tomorrow!
