Week 2 Learn From Home Assignments
Week of March 23-27 Due Date: Friday, March 27 @ 5pm
Hey guys!
This week I want to focus on THE most important part of creating a movie. Planning. In order to create a successful production (movie, TV show, podcast, etc.), there are many steps that can be followed. I chose to focus on 5:
*Film Development
*Pre-production
*Production
*Post-Production
*Distribution
I'm having you view a description of these 5 steps via the link below. The website focuses on Indie Films. I chose this film type as many of the Hollywood hits start as an Indie Film or are screened at an Indie Film Festival. Not all, but many. If the film that is shown is successful, often times writers take the idea and make it a cinematic hit. When the film is creative, some of the most important cinematic roles are:
*Producer
*Director
*Screenwriter
*Production Designer
*Art Director
*Costume Designer
*Cinematographer
*Editor
*Actors
*Music Supervisor
This week's assignment:
1. View this website: https://indiefilmhustle.com/5-stages-indie-film-production/
Read through the 5 different stages of Film Production.
2. View this website: https://www.govtech.com/education/news/The-Roles-of-the-Production-Team.html
Read through the descriptions of the different roles of the production team
3. Using the poster board I will deliver to you on Monday, on one side, think about a movie you love or a movie you want to create in
this class and write out ideas of how YOU would complete all of the stages. Literally write it out and describe. When you're done, you
will record yourself on your phone or Chromebook webcam explaining these. Zoom in or take pictures so I can see it up close.
4. On the other side of the posterboard, I want you to pick which production role YOU would like to have. Using other websites/info,
put this role in the middle. Under this role (or around, or in list form, be creative!!), list WHY you would want this role, what
attributes do you have that would make this a perfect fit for you? Write the other positions/roles around it to fill up the space to
visually show what the other options are. Record yourself on your phone or webcam explaining WHY you would be perfect for this!
5. Submit to Classroom
6. Email me and let me know which form of visual communication you'd like to use for a meeting: Google Hangouts, Zoom or Skype.
What are you using in other classes?
Thanks for all your hard work, I really appreciate it! I wish we could be in class to get going on videos.
